The Adventure Quest Foundation is currently under development.

The mission of the Adventure Quest Foundation is to promote the importance of wilderness and international experiences as a critical part of a young persons development, and to provide financial assistance to the families of youth, ages 16-18, for selected wilderness and international adventures.

Relevancy and Importance

Wilderness and international outings teach life-building skills that traditional schools cannot. These experiences enhance global perspectives, create an appreciation for wilderness environments, and also for the United States of America.

There is no specific foundation or entity that exclusively offers financial assistance for “experiential” types of learning via wilderness or international adventures. Conversely, billions of dollars are available for college and university scholarships.

There is no umbrella organization devoted exclusively to promoting outdoor and wilderness adventures as an important element is a young persons development. Parents should view these experiences as important to their child’s future as finishing high school and college.

Focus and Activities

1) Awarding financial aid to the families of selected youth for participation in wilderness or international adventures. Families will be expected to pay some of the cost of the adventure.

2) Be the leading, national voice for promoting the importance of wilderness and overseas adventures as an important part of a young person’s development. This will be achieved via press releases, television and radio interviews, public speaking, website.

3) Via personal visits and interviews, select the AQF partner organizations. These entities will offer wilderness and international adventures that meet the criteria of the Adventure Quest Foundation including, but limited to, safety record; caliber of executive, board and outing leadership; organizational philosophy and mission; typical number of participants on a group outing; organizational longevity.

4) Secure operating funds. The AQF seeks a start-up gift of $200,000 for the initial two years of operation. Alternatively, the foundation may be endowed with a gift of $4 million.
